Questions
- Where do these GitHub stats come from?
- From GitHub's public API, the same data behind the contribution graph on a GitHub profile. Nothing is estimated or scraped.
- Why doesn't the total match my GitHub profile?
- Your profile only counts the last year, while the all-time figure adds up every year since you joined. GitHub also only counts commits made with an email linked to your account and pushed to a default branch, and private work only appears if you turned on private contributions.
- How are top languages worked out?
- By the size of the code in each language across the public repositories the profile owns, leaving out forks. It reflects what someone has published, not everything they write.
- Is it free? Do I need to sign in?
- It is free and needs no account. Type any GitHub username to see its stats.
- How often are the stats updated?
- About every hour.
- Can I see one year in more detail?
- Yes. Every year on a stats page links to that year's GitHub Wrapped, with streaks, busiest months, top repositories and achievements for the year.
